Poetic Awakening

In shadows cast by fleeting fame,

We chase approval, all the same.

Success, achievements, narcotics disguised,

Subtle strings that bind our skies.

Approval sought, a drug we crave,

But in its grasp, we’re far from brave.

Programmed minds, conditioned hearts,

Controlled by what the world imparts.

Pain and rejection, hurt and strife,

Resentments born from others’ knives.

Withholding love, acceptance too,

Leaves us lost, broken, and blue.

But in this maze of outward chase,

Lies a truth we must embrace.

Drop the need for others’ grace,

Find within, a sacred space.

Self-love blooms, a light so pure,

A path to freedom, safe, secure.

Break the chains of societal sway,

Live authentically, day by day.

This journey calls with wisdom deep,

To wake from slumber, rise from sleep.

In self-discovery, we are found,

Empowered souls, no longer bound.

So heed this call, let go the fear,

Your true self waits, ever near.

Inward turn, and you will see,

The beauty of being wild and free.
